| Q: |
Why are the SkypeOut, Skype, and Chat buttons greyed out? |
| A: |
The buttons will be grey under any of these three conditions:
- Skype is not connected.
- You do not have a currently selected contact.
- You have not specified Skype Name's and/or a Contact number for the contact
If your buttons are grey and it is not due to one of these situations please contact us at support@look2skype.com |

I use Microsoft Business Contact Manager and I cannot close a contact once opened without error. |
| A: |
Look2Skype automatically adds a Skype Name field to each as it is opened. Microsoft Business Manager does not interact well with this. You can disable the automatic addition of the Skype Name field by unchecking the "Automatically insert Skype Name field when opening contact" option. The options can be found under the "Help->Options..." toolbar button. |

I receive error "Unable to initiate call. Skype error code [92]" |
| A: |
Look2Skype parses the telephone number before passing it onto Skype to SkypeOut so we can provide additional features for setting default dialing codes, etc. There are some variations of telephone number which Look2Skype does not parse correctly. This will be fixed in the version 1.2 of Look2Skype. To be notified when this will be available you can send an e-mail to support@look2skype.com |
| Q: |
Look2Skype crashed Outlook and now when I restart Outlook, Look2Skype doesn't start. |
| A: |
If an add-in causes a fatal error in Outlook when it starts Outlook may disable the add-in. To re-enable the add-in you should go to the "Help" menu in Outlook, and choose the "About Microsoft Office Outlook" item. In the bottom right-hand corner of the about window is a button called "Disabled Items...". If Look2Skype is present; remove it and Look2Skype will load next time you start Outlook. |
| Q: |
I have chosen a default country code but it doesn't display correctly when I look at the options. |
| A: |
Many countries share a country code, for example the international dialling code for both the United States and Guam is 1. Look2Skype currently only stores the numeric country code so is unable to differentiate between countries which share a country code, so instead just selects the first alphabetically sorted country. This will be fixed in a later release, however it has no effect on the dialing code which is used. |
| Q: |
I receive the error message "Skype is reporting that you have denied Look2Skype access to Skype..." |
| A: |
This is caused because, at some point, Skype prompted you to allow Outlook access to Skype and you denied access. You can allow access by the following method:
- Launch Skype
- Go to the "Tools" menu.
- Select the "Options..." menu item.
- Choose the "Privacy" group.
- Click the link near the bottom of the window that says "Manage other programs' access to Skype".
- Remove all entries that say "OUTLOOK.EXE"
Next time you run Outlook you will be prompted to allow Outlook access to Skype, you should allow Outlook to access Skype and then Look2Skype should function properly after this. |
